If you follow me (@JLanOnTheTweet) on twitter, you've been aggravated by me talking about #terrestrial. I know I had the Motown Gangster thing back in '08, but this is my first real release. It's not your prototypical hip-hop sound, If I had to try to categorize it, I'd probably call it experi-tron-hop. Expect random movie quotes, synthesizers, strange effects, and strange time meters. ...oh yeah, this counts as part no. 10 of the Saturday Session. The back cover is after the jump.

JLan - Saturday Session 7

This track is kinda poly-rhythmic with that southern bounce. This is the first release from my upcoming instrumental EP, Terrestrial. There is actually more of the crazy time meter type-stuff on the EP. You know, a little break from the usual. (Yesterday was the first Saturday of college football, I tend to drop everything when that comes along, so Saturday Session is Sunday Session this week.)

Yoo! I know, I know, on the east coast it's Sunday. Well, I'm in SC on PST. This is my joint! I had to pull out a classic for this week. The big homie Thrilla AKA Beat Beazt put in work in this song. It's that real life rap that we all need in the struggle! This song reminds me of the old days. Still OMG4LIFE!

JLan - Saturday Session 1

NEW WEEKLY SERIES. There is no real theme to this one. It pretty much sums up a Saturday. Anything goes. One week you may hear pop, then the next week you may hear boom-bap underground hip-hop. I may even debut new and/or unreleased songs that I've produced. I'm gonna start it off with a pop style track. Not really for everybody, to tell the truth, It sounds really Lady Gaga, top 40-ish! LOL
