Manny Ramirez Retires

Manny "Being Manny" Ramirez, who was one of my personal favorite personalities and talents in baseball, retired Friday. The sad thing is, he was probably about to be suspended for allegedly failing another test for performance-enhancing drugs. His career should be one those 1st ballot Hall-of-Fame type deals, but due to being caught multiple times with PEDs, he will probably go down as one of those 'asterisk' stories.

A-Rod [finally] hits 600.

The youngest to join the 600 HR club, A-Rod with his 600th HR ended a 12-game homerless slump and came exactly three years to the day after his 500th homer. Not that I care for the Yankees, or Alex Rodriguez, but hey, it's history.
