In the spirit of lyrical exercise, I figured i’d start a chain of freestyle releases entitled “The Penny Freestyle Series”. As a kid, Penny Hardaway was my favorite basketball player, hands down. Labeled the 2nd coming, he took the mid 90′s by storm. We all know if his knees didn’t give out, he’d be listed in the top 50 of all time, hall of fame, the works. So, what happens if Penny’s knees DON’T go out on him? He becomes one of the greatest ever. Hence where I come in at. The first freestyle out the gate, “Boat Check In”, is over Jay-Z & Kanye’s “Otis” instrumental. -Skyzoo

PH – County Of Kings f. Sha Stimuli, Skyzoo, Ruste Juxx & LR Blitzkrieg

I haven't really listened to PH (formally known as Pumpkinhead) but this joint features Skyzoo (one of my favorites, as y'all know) and Ruste Juxx, whom I've been rocking with since seeing him on Freestyle Friday years back (I'm talking 'Free and AJ' years back). I'm still mad he didn't win that battle. Underground hip-hop fans know that this track is a problem.

J.Silva - Call Me By My Name

To continue with the unintentional pop theme I have going, let's introduce a new face to the Society.

J.Silva is a 21 year old singer/songwriter from Chicago, her father is from Mexico and mother is from Puerto Rico. 

She is currently finishing up her album called "Silva not Silver", referring to people mispronouncing her name.  The album has some of Chicago's musical legends such as Violator DJ Naki The Beatman who’s produced for 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Twista, 3LW, Ying Yang Twins and much more.  Rapper AK of the group Do Or Die also Producer Christian Davis who has produced for Day 26 and New Kids On The Block.

Amy Winehouse (September 14, 1983 - July 23, 2011)

It's sad to see such a talent gone at such a young age. It's also sad to see that people are so cold, that she is still the butt of jokes on the day of her death. Amy Winehouse, multiple Grammy Award winner, gone too soon at the age of 27.

JLan - Saturday Session 1

NEW WEEKLY SERIES. There is no real theme to this one. It pretty much sums up a Saturday. Anything goes. One week you may hear pop, then the next week you may hear boom-bap underground hip-hop.
